Home Decor Gift Guide

November 22nd, 2017

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I have a gift guide for the home decor obsessed.  It’s a heavy board because, well, it’s my favorite topic! Let’s begin:

I posted a blog on this recently, but I LOVE JYDH prints.  I think one definitely needs to go in our new powder bath.  I’m eyeing this one. They’re beautiful and at a great price point.

I’ve been blogging about Mandy’s shop since day 1.  I love her online store.  She has a uniquely curated shop full of gems.  I love the cactus vase, memo board and this candle pagoda.

Diane Keaton has a book out on her new home and it is at the top of my wish list. What a great addition for any cocktail table.

These planters are perfect for any mantle or counter needing a little punch.  Throw in your favorite succulent or flower and you have a beautiful statement piece.

I also love a gift that is not only beautiful but functional.  This Tic Tac Toe piece is good looking and fun for any party guest.

Beauty Enthusiast Gift Guide

November 17th, 2017

Hello and Happy Friday! I have to admit, I am loving the gift guides this year.  It’s so fun to see what people pick and learn about new things.  Today I’m coming to you with a guide for the beauty enthusiast in your life, which I feel like lately is everyone.

I got a blow out in New York last year and was very impressed by the flat iron she used. For someone who has always been an avid CHI user, it was a big deal for me to branch out.  This flat iron heats up ridiculously fast and works amazing.  I love it.

I got one of these last year and am a huge fan.  For someone like me who has sensitive skin, it works like a charm.  If you’re tired of having to wait out dramatic sleep lines on your face, a silk pillow cover is for you.

This hairdryer was a discovery from our girls trip last fall to New York.  My mom had this dryer and IT IS AMAZING.  It will blow you into next week.  If you hate drying your hair, you need to make sure you have the right tools.  This powerful dryer is salon grade and cuts my drying time in half.

I have to say, I’m a sucker for any eye palate from Bobbi Brown.  I love her shadows, and their collections are always beautiful.  This one is pretty, small enough to throw in your purse and easy on the wallet.

I got a Sephora sampler recently and am obsessed with the Egg Cream Mask.  Denver is so dry it will literally turn you into a reptile.  This cream hydrates so intensely without provoking a breakout.

What are your favorite beauty products? I’d love to hear!

Men’s Gift Guide

November 15th, 2017

Today I have a gift guide men, inspired by the fabulous ones in my life: husband, dad and brother in law. The men in our family have a love of cars, working out, and speakers.  They are also REALLY hard to buy for.  This is the gift guide I need the most. With that in mind, let’s begin!

My husband and dad wear dry fit shirts all the time. You could say it’s their version of active-wear.  This shirt from Old Navy is cheap and fantastic.  Tim has quite a few short sleeve, but no long.

My dad has season tickets to the F1 race at the Circuit of the America’s in Austin.  This has gotten all of us really into racing.  I think this back pack could be really cool for the hubs (even though I’m the Mercedes team fan, and he loves Red Bull).

I’ve promoted these a million times, but I love my S’Well bottle.  I got my dad this wooden one for his birthday last year and I think it’s actually converted him into a water bottle user.  Not only is it stylish, it will keep your water cold for 12 hours.

Tim has installed these all over the house and they are amazing.  You can turn the outlet on and off from your phone.  Worried that you left your flat iron on? No problem, check the app.  Need to turn off the lamp quietly while your baby is asleep? BAM.   You get the idea.

My husband does not exactly love to dress up.  These socks are hilarious, and would add a little flare to any dress pant.

Ladies Gift Guide

November 13th, 2017

I’m coming to you today with a gift guide inspired by my sister.  It’s perfect for any of the ladies in your life (mom, friend, etc). I took a poll on my Instagram recently about whether or not gift guides were tired, and it came back with a resounding no, so here we go!

My sister loves a blanket, and if you haven’t experienced Barefoot Dreams, you better check this one out.  For now, I’m loving this faux fur trimmed throw.

She’s also really intrigued by beauty masks and I’ve started to experiment myself. This Rose Gold Mask from Nordstrom has pretty packaging and is targeting all my current facial issues…

I know I’m late to the game, but I’m obsessed with my Converse slider shoes.  They are beyond comfortable and easy to throw on, especially for this mom on the go.  These are currently on sale at Nordstrom Rack.

Confession: I’ve been wearing the same shade of Mac lipstick since the 7th grade (you can find it here). My mom gave me a few colors of Charlotte Tilbury and I am OBSESSED.  My current favorite shade has a tacky name…

If you haven’t tried a Voluspa candle, you haven’t lived.  Baltic Amber is my favorite scent, and this mini version is the perfect stocking stuffer!

What other guides would you like to see? Bring on the holidays! I am ready.

Ready for the Holidays

November 11th, 2017

Normally, I don’t think anything Christmas should be out prior to Thanksgiving.  This year, however, I’m making an exception.  I’m ready for everything holiday.  We’ve experienced loss and sickness recently, and it’s to make things cheery. Bring on the holiday spice flat white, sweaters, and boots.  You know what else is cheery? A GIVEAWAY! I’ve teamed up with August Ink to giveaway a $50 gift card.  If you haven’t experienced one of their shirts, they are adorable and incredibly soft. Their holiday collection is out and it’s the perfect way to get in the spirit.  Head over to my Instagram to enter!

Friday Favs

October 20th, 2017

Hello and happy Friday!!! I’m really excited for the weekend.  We have several parties and a trip to the pumpkin patch ahead. Should be a good one. Don’t miss the Tory Burch private sale (aka my weakest moment of the year).  This tote bag is fantastic for me schlepping all my mom gear around. I’ve mentioned on my Instagram story that I really need some kind of eye cream intervention, and these masks are on my top list to try.  I’m loving a local company, August Ink for their adorable Denver Ts and shirts.  If you’ve never heard of them, check it out! Super soft and cozy products. These booties are only $60! If you need a good book to read, we just finished The Royal We in book club and I loved it! Such an entertaining read.  I’m also really into documentaries at the moment.  The Lady Gaga one on Netflix really surprised me.  I’m not a huge fan of hers but she has more depth than I was expecting.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, friends!

Josh Young Design House

October 17th, 2017

Today, I’m coming at you with fabulous avant-garde portraits from John Young Design House. I’ve mentioned before how much I love thought provoking art, and these fun prints more than hit the mark. I found him on Instagram and am a fast fan.  Josh is a talented Chicago-based designer with experience in textiles and design.

Do yourself a favor and check him out! I’m placing these fun prints in a project ASAP.

If you’ve read any of Andy Cohen’s books, you know he’s been working on his current and expanding Greenwich Village apartment. I was so excited to see his spread in Elle Decor this month now that it’s finally finished! Take a look at his whimsical space:

I love that artwork incorporating the word “sweety.” If you follow AC on twitter, that probably gave you a laugh.  Check out the full Elle Decor article here.

I’ve blogged on her apartment before, but the lovely Carol Radziwill just refreshed her stunning SOHO apartment.  Just when you thought something couldn’t get any better, it does.  Aspen decorator John Bossard helped Carol knock this out of the park:

Lauren Conrad recently accepted an offer on her Pacific Palisades home. This property was featured on a catch up special for The Hills and I loved it.  I have to say, I get so attached to things. I can’t imagine selling something after only living there two years.  Not to mention, after our last move, I NEVER want to move again.  Take a look.  It’s clean, fresh and dreamy.

Ugh, dreamy right?
