Timothy is turning 30 and we are obsessed with traveling.
So why not go somewhere we’ve both never been?
After much brainstorming and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, we were set.
For starters, there is a direct flight from Denver. Plane tickets this time of year are fairly cheap. Sure, it’s winter, but we live in Colorado. We’re not amateurs.
From there we did our homework, starting with a travel consultation with the lovely Aspiring Kennedy. Lauren will do a thirty minute Skype session for $35. I talked to Lauren for our last overseas trip and her advice was fantastic. We missed crazy museum lines, knew the perfect trains to take and great places to eat. If you’re planning a major trip, I highly recommend soliciting Aspiring Kennedy for advice.
From there, Tim (who really should be a travel agent) is continuing to carefully comb his Frommer’s guide to Iceland, while I search the internet for appropriate Icelandic gear.
What do you think? Would you hop a plane to Iceland, or do you think we’re crazy?
