First of all, yes, I watch The Real Housewives franchise. Don’t act like you don’t either.
Lately, some of the ladies have been renovating their homes.
Vicki Gunvalson of Orange Country recently remade her entire residence, and oh I have been dreaming of this dining room ever since. I am obsessed with the walls, which are hand painted. Not a wallcovering!
I tracked down her California Interior Designer, the lovely Leanne Michael and thankfully she was willing to share some insight and personal photos. You can view more of her work here.
Here’s Leanne’s commentary on how the walls came about:
“I enlisted artist Peter Bolton to hand paint a blue and white linen textured wall in V’s dining room that conceptually came from a worn piece of vintage silk Fortuny fabric I had been hanging on to for sometime hoping for a lovely home to incorporate the design into. It originally featured two small yet stunning birds back to back with a large damask background however, the fabric swatch was so limited that we needed to add more pattern design to it… Although still amazing in a Spanish influenced home it now feels rather Chinoiserie to me with the added Ikat pattern. “
Oh my. I am obsessed.
Bravo, Leanne! It looks amazing.
